Answer in 3–5 sentences.

  1. Explain the difference between HDD and external hard disk.
  2. What is a motherboard? Mention its importance.
  3. Differentiate between software and hardware.
  4. What is the function of the CPU fan?
  5. What is AGP and why is it used?
  6. Explain SATA and PATA cables and ports.
  7. What is a PS2 port? Which devices use it?
  8. Define GPU. How is it different from CPU?
  9. What is the use of a gamepad in computers?
  10. Explain the role of anti-virus software.

Section C: Long Answer Type (4 marks each × 5 = 20 Marks)

Answer in 8–10 sentences. Diagram where applicable.

  2. Explain the structure and working of a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) with diagram.
  3. Write a note on SMPS, power button, restart button, and their importance in a computer.

  5. Explain the use of PCI slot, LPT port, VGA port, sound port, and how they connect to peripheral devices.
